The Governors of Sea View Primary School are seeking to appoint three enthusiastic, motivated and positive teaching assistants.

You will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the Teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.  The work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area, which could include group work or on a 1-2-1 basis.

You will assist the Teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.  Staff may also supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of Teachers.  The primary focus will be to maintain good order and to keep pupils on task.

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.  We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

In line with the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education, schools may carry out an online search as part of their due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
