Team Manager – Adult Social Care Substance & Alcohol Misuse Team

Northumberland Adult Social Care are looking for a motivated and passionate leader to join a newly developed team of practitioners to provide support and interventions to adults in Northumberland whereby substances and alcohol are identified and interventions required.

Northumberland are developing a team to provide an integrated holistic approach to prioritising support to individuals aged 18 years and over working closely with partner agencies including drug & alcohol services, mental health practitioners, health, police and social care. The team will complete joint assessments with partner agencies, identify interventions, responding to crisis situations and working with individuals to improve outcomes. This will include considering residential rehab for some clients. The team will sit alongside the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub and work with partner agencies to identify risks and interventions to support adults in the community.

The ideal candidate will have a background of being able to lead a team and experience of prior management skills, knowledge and experience of working with clients where alcohol and substances are an identified issue, have experience in providing direct harm reduction work and have knowledge of interventions and individual treatment programs to ensure adults are supported to stop using alcohol and substances and reduce the associated risks form these to both themselves and to their communities. Alongside this, you will have experience in managing caseloads, providing supervision to staff, monitoring outcomes and performance alongside working effectively with partner agencies.
