Further Information
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Democratic Services Team at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council working as a Democratic Services Assistant.

This post is based at the centre of the Council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

You will be part of a small, friendly, dynamic team providing administrative support across all areas of democratic and electoral services to ensure the smooth running of democratic and decision-making processes.

We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator who is able to interact with a broad range of people, including members of the public, elected members and officers at all levels of the organisation, who has effective and efficient administrative skills, and who has an awareness of working in a political environment.

Applicants should have previous experience in a similar role and have a flexible approach to work as much of the role involves the ability to jump from different tasks quickly and efficiently, prioritising work to meet deadlines and taking on ad-hoc duties.

If you can adapt quickly to changing circumstances, thrive under pressure and are interested in working within a political environment, we want to hear from you.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.

We are an ambitious Council keen to build on our strong track record of innovation and partnership working, ensuring that we create a flourishing future for the borough and all of its residents. Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

For an informal discussion contact Sue Fenwick, Democratic Services Manager on 01642 444413 or Ali Haver, Elections Manager on 01642 444528.
