Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are looking to recruit a Senior business support officer, to provide confidential, comprehensive, and professional administrative support within the Quality Assurance & Practice Development Team within Children’s Services.
 
The Senior Business Support Officer role underpins the effective delivery of a wide range of quality assurance and practice development activity. This will encompass a varied workload, including coordinating the efficient delivery of a planned programme of audit work and practice development workshops, and producing high quality reports containing both qualitative and qualitative information that provide Senior Leaders with a clear understanding of both the activity and impact of this work.

The role will include the administration and minuting of meetings, and a varied portfolio of administrative support for the quality assurance team and the Principal Social Worker. The postholder will need to be highly organised; be able to work collaboratively and closely with staff across the directorate to support and drive activity; to produce a range of high-quality reports that effectively communicate key information; and to maintain accurate records including trackers that monitor the extent and impact of the work completed.
 
All Administration Clerk / Team Member are expected to perform a range of administrative and clerical duties in consultation with the Team Manager including:
To maintain and develop administrative processes and basic financial processes on behalf of the directorate, including document management, retention and disposal, maintenance of information systems and helping to embed Council procedures related to issues such as information security and information governance into daily practice.
 
To assist in the secure collection of data in a prescribed format to support the development of management information and the maintenance of accurate financial records.
 
Inputting, updating and retrieval of information stored within appropriate databases.
 
Handle complex administrative and procedural tasks or queries both orally and in writing using analytical, financial and problem-solving skills.
 
To raise purchase requisitions and receipting of goods once the appropriate authorisation has been obtained. To process invoices in relation to goods received.
 
Where required, to produce journals for the purpose of internal recharging and check any reported income against General Ledger, resolving queries that may arise.
 
To act as an administrative lead for the service area, liaising with colleagues across the Council to ensure the development of best practice.
 
To be responsible for the provision of day-to-day administrative support for the designated service area including but not limited to faxing, photocopying and maintaining guidance documents.
 
Collating and processing manual and computerised information in accordance with approved Children & Families Directorate procedures.
 
Responding to telephone / face-to-face enquiries and messages.
 
Dealing with unexpected and sensitive customer queries or situations through utilising enhanced negotiating and persuading skills.
