SCIENCE TECHNICIAN
Salary Band 3 (SCP 5-6)
Pro-rata Salary £20,276-20,616 per annum based upon working 37 hours per week (term time plus 5 days) permanent contract.

We are a high performing Multi Academy Trust looking to grow and develop talented individuals that wish to specialise in the operations side of our Academy. We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and committed people to work as part of our busy Science technician team. Your role would be to coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities and provide assistance, advice and expertise in meeting the practical needs of the science curriculum.


The key duties and responsibilities in this role are:

• Preparing resources and assembling apparatus for class practical and clearing away after use including the collecting, checking, and returning of equipment to stores

• Setting up practical demonstrations in laboratories

• Trialing experiments

• Giving technical advice to teachers

• Keeping up to date with health and safety requirements and current procedures and practices through continuing professional development

• Ensuring the safe treatment and disposal of used materials, including hazardous substances, and responding to actual or potential hazards.

• Ensuring the safe storage of equipment, chemicals and materials including checking stock, keeping records, general cleaning, repair, maintenance and testing of equipment


The successful candidate for this role should be able to demonstrate the following:
