Location: Learning and Development Centre, Grangetown (with home working a possibility on some occasions)

Applications are invited for the post of PST Trainer based at the Learning and Development Centre at Grangetown.

This is a dynamic role within Cleveland Police. Working as part of the personal safety team you will be responsible for designing and delivering a range of personal safety training courses to new recruits and existing Officers. This includes;

• Identify, implement and monitor PST training activities including Taser Refresher training within the Force and identified Service Units

• Enhance the performance and effectiveness of staff, which meets the different needs of the Force

• Contribute to the development and implementation of a range of measures to ensure high quality training service delivery

• Liaise with key staff and Training Administration to ensure the maximum student occupancy on courses/learning events.

• Development and provision of a variety of training programmes / interventions to meet the different needs of the Force and the relevant district or service unit.

• Carry out environmental scanning to ensure that training is kept as up to date as possible and identify forthcoming issues which will impact on the force


Essential skills required

• Teaching / training of restraint technique within Police Sector or, experience within a similar environment

• Experience of planning, developing and delivering training courses

• Experience of liaising with other trainers to meet the training requirements of employees
