We are a fast paced and diverse charity with an excellent track record in partnership working and high-quality delivery.

Through our strategic theme of ‘Enriching Lives through Environment, Culture and Heritage’, we aim to inspire engagement and discovery informed by our past, present and future. The delivery of the theme would be focused around our operational site at Jarrow Hall Anglo-Saxon Farm & Bede Museum and West Boldon Education Centre as well as delivering outreach programmes to engage communities and break down barriers to access services.

Our Cultural Services, especially through our Jarrow Hall Museum and programmes have significantly developed over the past 3 years, and in April 2023, our organisation became an Arts Council, National Portfolio Organisation which provides a great foundation to further develop our offer and deliver our ambitions under our Jarrow Hall Masterplan and 3 year strategic plans. Under this theme, the successful postholder would oversee our strategic direction, operations and partnership working across our work under our service areas of Cultural Services, Learning Beyond the Classroom and Outdoor Learning.

Through this role, you will support and develop a number of strategic relationships with partners such as Arts Council England, Cultural Partnerships, Sage Foundation and National Grid to further our partnerships.

We are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people. To demonstrate our commitment we have been awarded the Disability Confident Scheme Symbol, which is awarded by the Employment Service.

Applicants should be aware that the post will only be offered to successful candidates subject to an Enhanced DBS check as well as other employment clearances.

Groundwork SaNT believes that a child, young person or vulnerable adult should never experience abuse of any kind. We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults and to keep them safe. We are committed to practice in a way that protects them.
