We have an opportunity for the right person to perform a key strategic role in the delivery of our ambitious early help services across County Durham.
 
WHAT IS INVOLVED? 
You will strategically lead and develop early help services for children, young people and families, ensuring all services are effectively focussed on early intervention and prevention which leads to significant and sustainable outcomes.
 
You will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the integrated Family Hub and Start for Life offer, taking forward our ambitions as a trailblazing local authority, as well as leading our successful and nationally recognised Stronger Families work to ensure the national Supporting Families programme is delivered in line with the required system transformation and agreed targets.
 
As a key system leader for early help support, you will develop and manage local, multi-agency partnerships to support effective strategic developments and service delivery to our varied communities.

WHAT WILL I NEED? 
We are looking for a strategic thinker with substantial experience of leading and managing the provision of programmes and integrated services for children, young people and their families.
 
  • You will have the ability to develop and articulate a clear vision for effective services and support for families with children and young people at the heart. 
  • You will need to demonstrate your skillset and experience of partnership working together with a clear understanding of government agendas applied to children and young people’s / early help services. 
  • You will have the capacity to manage a diverse workload as well as lead and manage staff in a supportive, positive way. 
  • You will have experience of managing significant budgets and complex programmes of work. 
  • You will need a professional qualification at degree level in a relevant field such as Health, Education or Social Care, together with a management qualification to level 5 or equivalent substantial management experience.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.

Important Information for Members of the Local Government Pension Scheme
