Backworth Park Primary are looking for a friendly and committed caretaker to join the facilities team and support the day to day running of our recently built site.
 
The successful candidate will have experience in facilities management and be flexible to work on a range of different practical tasks within a busy school environment, both independently and as part of a team.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
  • Unlocking and locking up the school
  • General maintenance and repairs
  • Act as a designated key holder
  • Winter gritting and path clearing
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the building if necessary
  • Helping set up and clear up for events
  • Ensuring that the building and grounds are safe for students and staff
  • Overseeing various contractors and to ensure that the correct work is carried out to an appropriate standard.
  • Managing stock levels and ensuring the safe storage of equipment and chemicals in line with health and safety policy and procedure.
This position is permanent, 27.5 hours/week all year round.
 
The person undertaking this role is expected to work within the policies, ethos and aims of the school and to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
 
The duties of this post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed. You may be required to carry out additional duties commensurate with the level of the role.
