Teacher of Food, Textiles and Child Development
Required for September 2024
Full time or part time. Suitable for ECTs.

We are looking to recruit to our Create department a passionate, innovative Teacher of Food, Textiles and Child development for a maternity cover. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across the age and abilitAy range at KS3-5. If you are able to teach only one of these specialisms, we would still like to hear from you. We are open to applicants seeking part time and/or temporary contracts.

We are looking for candidates who:
  • Are excellent teachers and ethical professionals, with values and integrity at the heart of any philosophy and outlook rather than ego or status.
  • Have excellent communication and people skills alongside emotional intelligence.
  • Understand what excellent teaching and learning looks like.
  • Are passionate about the transformative power of education, care about young people, and are willing to challenge complacency in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
In return we can offer you the support of a vibrant, driven senior team, a fantastic modern building, excellent CPD opportunities and great students to work with.

We are a highly aspirational, truly comprehensive 11-18 secondary school of around 1000 students in North Tyneside. Our vision is ambitious and unapologetic: we are creating change in order to be the school of first choice in the local area. We are passionate about equality, fairness and our students achieving the very best they can. We are proud of our traditional values: kindness, integrity, determination, manners, ambition, and positivity. We are a fully inclusive school, in a wonderful modern building, that is dedicated to both supporting and challenging all members of our diverse community and to developing the potential in all our students, regardless of their starting points. Ours is a calm and orderly work environment, based upon high standards of behaviour and an ethos of trust and care. We were rated Good by Ofsted in June 2022 and are due to be oversubscribed again next year.
