This post is fixed term, term time only plus 5 training days. 

Newcastle PE and School Sport Service is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead, organise and develop our PE and School Sport Service on a temporary basis covering maternity leave.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sport and education and great people management skills to ensure effective day-to-day running of the department including the supervision of staff in relation to Service Level Agreement Programmes and Services.

We are looking for someone who has:
 
  • Experience of managing and delivering activity programmes and events.
  • Experience of developing and delivering to standards of service.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels within an organisation and with external partners. 
Newcastle PE and School Sport Service is based at Benfield School in the east of Newcastle upon Tyne and is part of NEAT Academy Trust, a family of seven primary and secondary schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East.

Our service covers the whole of Newcastle upon Tyne, engaging with and delivering a variety of programmes and services to First, Primary, Middle and High Schools. We provide high quality PE and sporting opportunities to children and young people; raising participation to ultimately encourage and motivate them to lead healthy, active, lifestyles.
