Further Information
North Tyneside Council are looking to appoint a Social Worker (or a Social Worker/AMHP) to work within the Adult Mental Health Social Work Team.

The team work closely with colleagues from Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to adults and their families experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues.

The team also work alongside the North Tyneside Recovery Partnership (NTRP) which is a dedicated service for anyone living in North Tyneside, 18 years old and over, who are experiencing problems with substances. Social workers work alongside health colleagues in delivering a recovery focused service to those experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol.

The team work within a Ways to Wellbeing model which is flexible, responsive and promotes evidence-based intervention. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance the established social work component of the service and to work alongside colleagues from health. There is a strong commitment to working in partnership with service users, carers, professionals and providers, keeping the individual at the centre of the process throughout.

The team’s vision is to work alongside individuals to help keep them safe and well, leading upon and responding to any safeguarding concerns. Social workers aim to promote service users independence, empowering service users to do as much for themselves as possible, for as long as possible.

You must be dynamic, committed to providing excellent services and bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to mental health and drug and alcohol services. You must be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for the residents of North Tyneside.

There is a well-established programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including a progression scheme. Social workers are actively encouraged to undertake post-qualifying training.

You will be appointed to a Grade 9 or Grade 10 post dependent upon your experience, pay scale below:

Grade 9 - £36,648 - £40,221 pa
Grade 10 - £41,418 - £45,441 pa (AMHP supplement - £2,000)

In return for your valuable contribution, you will have access to our excellent benefits package:

• Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (for contracts of 3 months or more)
• A supportive Occupational Sick Pay scheme
• A generous annual leave allowance, which increases with service, plus bank holidays
