Further Information
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

In anticipation of new statutory regulations for the provision of initial teacher training from September 2024, a rare opportunity to join Stockton SCITT has arisen through the creation of a new position to support us in the next stage of our development. This is a part-time, fixed-term, two year position in the first instance.

Stockton SCITT is a well-established, respected provider of initial teacher training and is the largest SCITT locally. We train approximately 60 trainees each year, working with a diverse range of settings for primary and secondary placements, including alternative provision. We have strong partnerships with local and national organisations. Key to our ongoing success is the unwavering commitment of the SCITT team and the strength of our whole partnership, particularly our relationships with our schools.

The new postholder will work closely with the partnership manager and existing curriculum development adviser to support with operational delivery of the current programme as well as contribute to the partnership’s strategic development. The postholder will be instrumental in contributing to the implementation of the new Quality Requirements to be delivered from September 2024 as well as contribute towards monitoring and quality assuring compliance in line with the new statutory framework.

The successful candidate must be ambitious and passionate about the highest quality initial teacher training. Experience of successful strategic leadership is essential, as is the ability to network and form effective, professional relationships with a wider range of stakeholders.
We are a safer recruitment provider therefore the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Please note this is a fixed term post for 2 years.

This is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week and the actual salary for the role is £30,331 - £32,938.
