About the Team

The Communications Team is responsible for all communications conducted by HM Treasury and its Ministers. It works closely with Ministers, special advisers and policy teams to communicate the full range of the Treasury’s work, through traditional and new media channels.
 
The team is high-performing, supportive and fun. We work highly collaboratively across the different aspects of communications (press, digital, events, insight). The roles are high-profile and post-holders are given a large degree of ownership for their projects. The team is a flexible resource, and the post-holder will need be ready to support colleagues during busy periods as responsibilities can move around to reflect government priorities.

About the Job

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading on digital publishing of HM Treasury documents including Budget, liaising with policy to project manage the process from start to finish
  • Publish documents and news stories in line with the Government Digital Service's (GDS) content design and accessibility guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams across the Treasury on publishing, accessibility and support on our templates to increase self-sufficiency.
  • Collaborate with the wider digital team on planning content including graphics for gov.uk
  • Champion accessibility and identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
In this exciting role you will be the publishing lead for all publications and fiscal events including the Budget, as well as line managing a Digital Content Officer.

About You

The ideal candidate will have had senior production responsibilities and have been responsible for the production process of high-profile documents for print and online, as well as creating content for digital channels.

You will be a confident, organised and collaborative individual and will want to work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. We publish more than 500 documents a year and so are looking for someone who is a natural collaborator with strong project management skills who can make effective content decisions. Working closely with teams across HM Treasury you'll provide document guidance at all stages of the publications process.
