The Leaving Care Team in North Tyneside works within statutory and local guidelines to offer support to care experienced young people up to the age of 25 from the area. Due to the existing post holder retiring, we are now looking to recruit a business administration assistant. 

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day processing and administration of business support systems and processes within Children’s Services. 

This includes contributing to the planning, development and monitoring of the processes. The post holder will be required to undertake specialist duties including the monitoring and completion of tasks work-flowed on the children’s services database, data entry and retrieval, system interrogation to provide external agencies with essential and accurate information, research for meetings, processing of information, minute taking at meetings and undertaking word processing and typing.

The post holder will respond to requests from and signpost members of the public, service users, colleagues across the authority, and partner agencies.

Applicants should have:
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Experience of working in a busy office environment. 
• The ability to work as part of a team and also on own initiative and with partner agencies.
• Experience and knowledge of financial processes and procedures such as invoicing, financial assessments and petty cash.
• Experience of providing customer services to a wide range of service users/colleagues.
• Use of electronic calendars and Teams to organise and plan work needs across the service
• Experience of taking minutes at complex multi-agency meetings.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
