Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment

Working Type: Full Time, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. (45.942 paid weeks)

Base: Red House Academy, Rutherglen Road, Sunderland, SR5 5LN

Please note:the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Red House Academy, Northern Education Trust, are seeking to appoint a dymanic and inspirational Education Welfare Officer to join the team. This will be a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within an educational setting, be able to support and give guidance to teachers, parents and children in dealing with issues of concern. You will be required to assist in meetings with internal and external agencies to help families improve their children's access to learning and enable all children and young people to maximise their educational opportunities, especially those vulnerable groups that may need additional support.

You will work closely alongside the Deep Support team and the Safeguaridng team, playing an active and key role in the inclusion department. The successful candidate will need to assess need, plan interventions, implement effective action and evaluate outcomes against agreed objectives, whilst involving service users in the decision making process.
