We are responsible for delivering the North East Strategic Economic Plan, to influence and shape the continued economic growth of the area.
Covering the local authority areas of Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland, we are governed by a business led with its board including representatives from private businesses, higher and further education and the leaders and elected mayor of the seven local authority areas.
The North of Tyne Combined Authority provides a robust and accountable structure for the area and provides the accountable body arrangements for the North East Local Enterprise Partnership.
The North East LEP are seeking an experienced individual to deliver our flagship programme linking employers with educations. This position will specifically support our primary sector to build productive links with business to ensure that all children in our primary schools are able to understand the opportunities available to them in the North East. This will build a pipeline of future talent meeting the needs of the local business.
The successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with excellent project management skills. Ideally the candidate will have experience working in both the primary sector and with business.
The North East LEP offers flexi time working and a hybrid working arrangement.
This position will be working on the North East LEP’s North East Ambition programme, which is a pivotal part of LEP’s North East Ambition programme. The North East Ambition Programme aims to contribute to the long-term growth of the North East economy by ensuring the pipeline of young talent in to the labour market is better matched with the needs of the region’s employers. North East Ambition is receiving funding from the European Social Fund as part of European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England.
