The Inclusion and Achievement (SEND) Team is seeking to offer a part time (0.5fte) position as County Learning Support Assistant for Speech and Language to a suitably qualified and experienced person. The successful candidate will be required to provide coaching and mentoring for Learning Support Assistants and delivering speech and language programmes in mainstream schools. This in turn will support pupils with Speech and Language Difficulties. The role will involve modeling the delivery of speech/language programmes to staff alongside individual pupils within school settings.
The post is based at the Educational Development Centre at Spennymoor and involves travel across the county.
You will have:-
• a relevant qualification i.e. NNEB (CACHE Level 3), BTEC Diploma in Caring Services (Nursery Nursing) or NVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Education/Early Years Care and Education
• experience in working with/supporting pupils with speech and language difficulites in the mainstream classroom in Key Stages 1, 2 or 3
• experience in delivering Speech and Language Therapy Programmes
• your own transport arrangements to enable you to travel distances between schools
