Salary: c. £35,000 per annum
Our current Head of Collections has accepted a promotion with another organisation so we wish to appoint a successor who can continue to develop the Collections at Durham Cathedral and raise the profile of the Library as a resource for the region and as a major exhibitions destination. We have two major collections that include ancient manuscripts, early printed books and a lending library of over 10,000 printed titles. Our non-Library collections include very precious items associated with Cuthbert and other important treasures including the original sanctuary knocker and the Durham Gospels.
We are looking for a qualified person with experience in special library collections and non-library collections as well as experience of hosting exhibitions. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to project manage initiatives and have a keen interest in developing the profile of the library and our non-library collections.
