Further Information
The Revenues and Benefits service are a critical front-line service responsible for the billing and collection of Council tax, Council tax reduction and Business Rates (non-Domestic Rates or NDR), the administration of Housing Benefit, provision of transactional purchasing and the processing and control of all payments to creditors for Durham County Council.

The successful post holders are required for the collection of all outstanding monies to the Council and will cover all aspects of collection, including payment management, as well as recovery and enforcement action where required.

The successful candidates should have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, able to work in a changeable environment, be a team player and able to use their own initiative.

Previous experience of working in a Revenues and Benefits environment is desirable, however, full training will be given to candidates that have the skills and abilities that are required.
