The Housing Project and Service Improvement Team are looking to recruit a Homeless and Prevention Officer (Welfare Reform) to work within the Welfare Reform Team until 31st August 2015.

The aim of the role is to work with customers who are affected by the changes implemented by the Welfare Reform Act. The successful candidate will be required to provide advice and signpost to other agencies assisting customers to prevent homelessness, reduce debts, maximise benefits and gain entry into training and employment.

As part of the role you will develop good working relationships with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies to encourage a co–ordinated approach to enable the best possible outcomes for customers.

Applicants are expected to have experience within a housing, homelessness or care related service with knowledge of homelessness legislation. You must be able to work as part of a team and support other colleagues in their role, have good IT skills and the ability to deal with people effectively and sympathetically. Access to a car is required as the role involves visiting customers at home.
