The Government has implemented a policy of providing a free infant school meal to all infant aged pupils (reception, year 1 and year 2) in schools from September 2014. This has increased the number of school meals we produce across the City so that when the children attend school they can benefit from eating a healthy and nutritious meal at lunchtime.

Would you like to join our successful team preparing and serving these nutritious and appetising meals to pupils and staff within a local school?

We have a number of part-time vacancies throughout the City. Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be given. We will also provide you with all the equipment you need for these posts, including a uniform.

Apply online or download the application form and supporting documents from www.northeastjobs.org.uk or you can email: jobs@newcastle.gov.uk or telephone 0191 211 5205 for a pack.

For an informal discussion please telephone 0191 2773736.

Please Note: The closing date for this vacancy is 31 January 2015

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise

*These posts attract the Newcastle Living Wage supplement. In addition to the hourly rate of £7.10, these posts will receive the Newcastle Living Wage supplement to bring the hourly rate up to a minimum of £7.55 an hour.
