The Virtual School for Looked After Children
37 hours per week. Fixed term for up to 6 months
The Virtual School provides educational support to Newcastle’s Looked After Children in order to improve their outcomes. It is an organisational tool to enable effective coordination of educational services for Looked After Children, at a strategic and operational level.
The post is based at the Civic Centre. You will be required to work with children, their carers as well as other agencies in order to complete their Personal Education Plan and best support their education.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, resourceful and possess good communication skills. You will need to be able to establish positive working relationships across a range of agencies, have the ability to chair focused meetings and be committed to helping Children in Care fulfill their educational potential.
