Further Information
The Durham Federation is a ‘hard’ Federation of two small 11 to 16 community colleges in County Durham. The Federation enables Fyndoune Community College and Durham Community Business College to offer a broader, more engaging curriculum for students, and means staff can easily share best practice and learn from each other.

We are on a mission to regain our Ofsted outstanding grading, and as such are investing significantly in staff development and training. Our new approach to teaching and learning is already paying huge dividends and students are enjoying learning and progressing together in a supportive, caring environment, where expectations and aspirations are high.

We are looking to recruit a talented, ambitious Second in Humanities (history teacher) who is keen to work as part of a team, to take responsibility for driving up standards and support in moving the area forward. In return for your commitment and passion you can expect to work with Humanities colleagues who are skilled practitioners, keen to innovate, share and develop, in a school environment which is very supportive, dynamic and fun.

You will be joining a small, dynamic Humanities Department who work, plan and celebrate success together. This is an exciting opportunity which offers you the opportunity to put into practice your ideas for improvement, along with all the support and encouragement you need to make an immediate and significant contribution to the success of our students

To apply for this post please complete an application form and write a supporting letter of no more than two sides of A4 which should include:

• The characteristics of an excellent lesson
• Your view of the role and significance of History within the curriculum, and how standards can be driven up for students of all abilities.
• How you fulfil the requirements of the person specification and meet the needs of the role.

Application forms are available to download from this webpage or by contacting
