Children’s Services are looking for a Team Manager for our Fostering (Short Term) Team based in Langley Moor, close to the centre of Durham. You will manage a team of 6-8 fostering social workers, providing supervision and leadership which enables excellent practice to flourish.

Short term fostering placements can be up to 1 year in length, and normally take place while assessment is carried out and the long term plan for the child or young person determined. Social workers in the Short Term Team work closely with foster carers, ensuring they are well supervised and that high quality care is provided to the child or young person.

To be the right person for this role you will:

• Be an experienced social worker with a minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience with children, young people and families
• Want to make a real difference to the safety and well-being of children and young people in Durham
• Share our vision and ambition.

• Be passionate about making a difference

To be apply for this post you must:

• Hold a degree or post graduate diploma in social work, or equivalent social work qualification, for example the Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Certificate in Social Services (CSS) or Diploma in Social Work (DipSW)
• Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Have at least 3 years post qualification experience in social work with children, young people and families
• Undergo Police Vetting, which us in addition to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure
