An opportunity has arisen for a full-time School Attendance Improvement Officer, temporary until 30th June 2018. This full-time vacancy is to cover two part-time 18.5 hour posts; one is a secondment until 30th June 2018 and the other is a maternity cover until 30th June 2018 or until the return of the substantive post holder.

The School Attendance Improvement Officers provide support, advise on, assist and enforce the statutory duties associated with school attendance matters in order to improve attendance. The post holder will be required to initiate various enforcement actions and prepare and present cases in magistrate’s courts.

Essential Qualifications:

National Programme for Specialist Leaders in Behaviour and Attendance (NPSLBA) or NVQ 4 Learning, Development and Support Services (LDSS) for Children, Young People and Those Who Care for Them or equivalent.
