The Governors of Wingate Primary School are looking for three very special, well organised and motivated Teaching Assistants to work with children in our school including the delivery of one to one support for children with SEND.

The successful candidates will be able to work with whole classes, groups and deliver specific interventions. They will be expected to work in a flexible way within a team and always adopt a Rights Respecting approach to everyone in our school community.

Wingate Primary School has been formed following the amalgamation of Wingate Infants and Wingate Junior School. As a Rights Respecting School we have a reputation for providing a rich learning environment and providing multiple opportunities for children and staff to learn. We are a Teaching School and therefore have links with 46 other Primary Schools within our Alliance.

The successful candidates will be given the opportunity to attend relevant courses including Team Teach, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and First Aid. A sense of humour, a corporate responsibility for our environment and a willingness to engage in the wider life of our school are essential for this post.

Application packs including the job specification are available to collect from the school office or by e-mailing s.clarke200@durhamlearning.net and should be returned to the same e-mail address or delivered to the school.

Visits to the school are very welcome.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. As a disability confident employer, we are committed to employing disabled people and people with health conditions making reasonable adjustments to support disabled applicants when required.

Please note that the Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009 apply to this position and therefore you are required to complete the “disqualification by association” declaration form. Should you be successful in your application for this post, your appointment can not be progressed without this declaration.
