An opportunity has arisen for a temporary Principal Property Management Surveyor to cover maternity leave until the end of September 2019 or the day before the return of the substantive post holder.

Durham is one of the largest local authorities in the UK, with a vast and diverse estate consisting of over 2,000 assets, worth in excess of £1 Billion and located across 550,000 acres. We are currently looking to add to our existing Asset Management Team, in arenas including Property Management, Strategy, Acquisitions, Disposals, Capital Accounting and Valuation work. The Asset Management Team works across the whole County, in many areas, from leading the delivery of capital receipts, to supporting the delivery of the Durham Plan. They also assist with: strategic acquisitions; CPOs; developing property investment strategies; and, managing the council’s property portfolio.

Owing to the unique nature of our large and complex estate, we are able to offer a great variety of work to develop new and existing skills for the right dynamic candidates.

This post involves leading a team which provides a comprehensive landlord and tenant service together with general estate management advice.

Applicants should be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and hold a relevant professional qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. RICS) together with experience of delivering service improvements and achieving value for money service delivery.
