Northumberland County Council is seeking a Technical Officer to work in its busy Public Health Protection Unit. The main duty of the postholder will be the delivery of its Private Water Supply Programme. We are looking for an individual with developed investigative and analytical skills together with good verbal and written communication abilities.

The post requires an individual with knowledge and experience in the area of environmental protection. A working knowledge of the the Private Water Supply Regulations 2016 and recent experience in the risk assessment and sampling of water supplies would be desirable.

The postholder will be required to meet monthly performance targets and regularly produce high quality written reports and advice to businesses, householders, consultants and the Local Planning Authority. The post holder will also be responsible for providing responses to subject specific environmental information requests.

The role offers varied work experience and will allow the successful applicant to develop an in depth knowledge of this technical subject whilst travelling the length and breadth of the beautiful Northumberland countryside.
