The Head of Care Management will not only lead on the Council’s statutory responsibilities around adult social care but thanks to integration also have the opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary teams and get involved in areas such as public health and wellbeing.

As Head of Service for Care Management you will oversee budgets, practice and performance in a number of key areas within an integrated adult social care management system, including responsibility for the management of the care management teams who support older people and individuals with learning/physical disabilities.

This is a varied and challenging role which carries responsibility for ensuring that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities across a wide area of adult social care, including adult safeguarding.

The successful postholder will have a professional qualification in social work or a relevant health or social care discipline, in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and the broader social care and health agenda. You will have well-developed leadership skills and the ability to work in close partnership with a wide range of other organisations, as well as across the Council, are all essential requirements for this post.

Please note that the successful postholder may be appointed as a Northumberland County Council or Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust employee dependent upon their individual circumstances and will be discussed further at interview.
