Northumberland County Council are seeking to recruit a motivated and customer focused individual to join our Information Governance team.

The Information Governance Manager will be responsible for managing the Information Governance team to deliver information governance compliance across Northumberland County Council, ensuring that they are working effectively and receive the appropriate training and support to fulfil their role. The Information Governance Manager will also fulfil the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) within the County Council, dealing directly with the Information Commissionaires Office (ICO) as appropriate.

The post will manage the delivery of an effective and efficient information governance service to both internal and external customers, providing expert advice and compliance support and lead strategic programmes of work in order to demonstrate compliance in line with legal and statutory obligations including General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulation.

Experience of working to deadlines and prioritisation of workload, dealing with members of the public, good written and oral skills are key requirements of the post. The post will report directly to the SIRO for information governance issues, and will also be responsible for regular reporting of trends and statistics on information governance requests to Information Asset Owners.
