Permanent part-time opportunities are available, along with casual as and when required posts and further details are available on the attached schedule.

Do you have a lively and enthusiastic personality; a love of books; experience of using IT applications? Do you have excellent customer care skills and enjoy working with children and people of all ages?

If so, we want to hear from you as applications are invited for Library Assistant vacancies which will require evening and weekend working.

Reporting to the Library Operations/Duty Officer you will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive range of libraries and public information services.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 GCSE or GCE 'O' levels (minimum A-C or equivalent) or CSE (Grade 1 only), including English Language or Literature, or GNVQ Intermediate level or NVQ Level 2 in a related subject

Evidence of working with the public, of using IT applications and of dealing with customer enquiries is essential.

Working as part of team, you must have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to assist and support customers.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the posts.
