An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Procurement Team within Durham County Council as a Procurement Category Specialist.

We are looking for an experienced procurement officer who has strong relationship management skills and is customer focused.

What you will need to succeed:

1. Experience of Tendering and Managing Contracts and a good understanding of the Public Sector Procurement Regulations.
2. Be MCIPS qualified or working towards attaining MCIPS and be willing to continue with your study within a specified period.
3. Have strong leadership qualities and a clear understanding of working on a collaborative basis with different stakeholders.
4. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate.
5. Work well under pressure, have effective organisational skills, be able prioritise and manage project workload.
6. Be trustworthy, reliable, confident and demonstrate fairness and awareness of the demands and sensitivities of working for a large organisation.
