Required as soon as possible

We are looking to appoint a suitably hardworking and reliable individual to join our team in supporting teaching staff and students in our Performing Arts, Design Technology, PE and Art departments.

This is an opportunity to join a team who are committed to providing the best possible outcomes for our students. We offer an exciting curriculum and a variety of extracurricular activities:
• Our Performing Arts department stages annual shows of a very high standard. Support is needed in staging these school productions and events.
• Our technology department delivers courses in construction, design technology, food and electronics with support needed in prepping, organising stock and doing safety checks on machinery.
• Our PE department needs support setting up equipment and managing resources as well as supporting extra curricular clubs.

We are looking for people who have skills in any of the above areas and are willing to learn new skills working all departments as needs require.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Belmont Community School as we build upon our Ofsted “Good” rating. We will offer you a supportive network of colleagues and access to training and CPD as required.

As our name implies, the school lies at the heart of its community. Belmont is a leafy suburb on the outskirts of Durham City. As a result of high expectations, enthusiastic teaching and very positive relationships, students enjoy school and want to do well.
Details are also available via the links below or alternatively contact Elaine Morgan on 0191 3865715. Please note we can not accept CV’s. Application forms can be downloaded and returned via email or posted to school.

Calculation of term time only plus one weeks’ pay

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• One additional week, inclusive of CPD – 1 week; plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.2 weeks (26 days) or 6.2 weeks (31 days)

Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 26 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 31 days annual leave.
For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:
39 weeks (term time plus 1) + 26 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45.8 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:
39 weeks (term time plus 1) + 31 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46.8 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Closing date: 17th February 2023
Interview date: Week commencing 6th March 2023
