Salary: Trade Rate Electrician £32,362 minimum per annum.

Permanent

1 x 37 Hours Post – post is 39 hours per week and paid 37 – the remaining 2 hours is accrued as 12 days additional leave

Durham County Council have an exciting opportunity for the role of a permanent Electrician working within Building and Facilities Maintenance, Repairs and Maintenance Team.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The post holder will carry out Electrician duties as required by the Electrical Manager and Electrical Foreman within the Repairs and Maintenance Service; and additional duties as required by the Building and Facilities Maintenance Team.

With a proven track record in domestic and commercial electrical installation, you will primarily be working in a busy repairs and maintenance electrical section within Durham County Council establishments.

You may also be required to work on major Durham County Council construction projects carrying out electrical installations.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
Experience on maintenance and contractual projects in industrial and commercial buildings is essential, along with the ability to:
• Diagnose/resolve electrical problems
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and conduct tests
• Install and repair electrical systems
• Work on your own and within a team

The candidate must be educated to City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3, or equivalent – Electrical and BS7671, IEE wiring Regulations – 18th Edition. The candidate must have experience of working at a similar level within a Construction or Maintenance environment

If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.

If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
