Supported Internships are a valuable offer for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), enabling them to achieve positive outcomes, furthering their education and skills through learning in the workplace, to support them to secure meaningful employment.
 
Do you have passion for supporting and promoting our young people’s SEND provision?

We are looking for you to join our team and drive supported Internships across South Tyneside.
 
Are you well organised and able to bring about positive outcomes?
We are looking for you to coordinate the Supported Internship Programme.  This includes identifying suitable work placements, supporting them through the programme, to improving progression opportunities.
 
Are you a good communicator and able to influence others?
You will be able grow and raise awareness of supported internships in South Tyneside.
 
The successful applicant will need to evidence they have appropriate qualifications and experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs & disabilities and excellent working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice. A sound knowledge of the post 16 education sector, especially in relation to those with SEND is essential.  The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to negotiate and influence at a high level and evidence a strong passion for improving and increasing progression opportunities for young people with SEND.
