These are new appointments to the team which has recently undergone a restructure to improve its alignment with emerging public health priorities across the life course, and greater integration within Durham County Council.

We are looking for candidates with a track record of implementing public health programmes in a range of settings, and with exceptional communication skills and ability to progress public health priorities through leadership at all levels of the system.

Public Health Advanced Practitioners will play a key role in forging partnerships with and influencing all key stakeholders within their specialist area of responsibility.

They will also be responsible for key elements of the Council’s public health vision and strategic plan, developing, implementing, monitoring and leading key public health programmes to reduce health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing.

This will be delivered through the commissioning process and marketplace development with providers including other Local Authorities, the NHS (commissioners, providers in the acute, mental health and primary care), the third sector and independent/private sector.

Applications are invited for the following posts:

- Public Health Advanced Practitioner: Healthy Communities, Strategy and Assurance

- Public Health Advanced Practitioner: Living & Ageing Well - Healthy Communities, Drugs and Alcohol

If you would like an informal discussion about any of these posts, please contact: Chris Woodcock, Public Health Strategic Manager email chris.woodcock@durham.gov.uk

Required Qualifications: Applicants will be expected to hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field; a relevant first degree, supplemented by public health improvement knowledge, acquired through training, courses and experience; and be registered (or working towards registration) on the Practitioner Register.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 3rd July, 2018

Apply on-line or for further assistance contact the HR Operations & Data Team on Telephone: 03000 267247 (24hr answerphone). Email: hrAHS@durham.gov.uk
