North Tyneside Council is looking to employ an experienced Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector Liaison Manager to support our relationship with the sector and help shape our activities going forward. This role plays a key part in supporting us to deliver this.

The post holder will be expected to develop and deliver several initiatives supporting the Council’s relationship with the VCSE sector in North Tyneside, including but not limited to

• Ensuring that the Council has a clear approach for supporting, engaging, and developing the sector
• Working with the VCSE to support emergency planning and deployment for short- and medium-term incidents
• Working with other Councils and the North of Tyne Combined Authority to share best practice in relation to work with the VCSE
• Promoting volunteering as a key aspect of the Better Together strategy
• Manage and further develop the Council’s Community Lettings Discount Policy

You will be the single point of contact for the VCSE sector in North Tyneside into the Council building on the relationships we have to ensure that it is a strong and mutually supportive relationship and ensuring that the sector has access to all parts of the Council where needed. As part of this you will be the Council’s VCSE champion, ensuring that our relationship with the VCSE is well understood across the council by both elected members and colleagues.

To do this you will need to be comfortable working with Elected Members, VCS colleagues, strategic partners, communities, and residents to identify priorities.

You will need to work with colleagues across the council and partners to deliver the Better Together Strategy ensuring that our commitment to volunteering is delivered and all residents are supported to access opportunities regardless of their background, economic status, protected characteristic or where they live.

You will be required to travel across the authority and possibly wider.
