Laurel Avenue Community Primary School is a successful and welcoming school. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Administrative Officer to join our happy school.

We are a small Primary School with 111 children on roll aged 3-11.

The post is part time, job share (17.5 hours per week: Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and all day Friday), term-time only.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, using a range of media. Attention to detail is paramount within the role therefore applicants are encouraged to specifically emphasise these skills on their application.

The main duties of the post are:
• Manage the day to day operation of the school office in collaboration with the administrative officer who you will job share this role with
• Provide clerical and administrative support to all staff and pupils as required
• Manage, maintain and process data and information in accordance with schools systems and processes complying with school, local and national government policy
• Create and maintain a friendly, warm, welcoming reception for all school stakeholders entering the school building
• Carry out a range of admin and clerical tasks
• Manage school finances by processing orders and invoices, administer school fund and petty cash systems
• Working to strict deadlines, being able to prioritise own workload; including often changing/postponing tasks to meet the needs of the school

The successful candidate will:
• Have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Have knowledge of technology and IT systems, preferably including FMS, SIMs, Juniper etc
• Have excellent interpersonal skills, working as an effective member of the whole school team and relating well to children and adults
• Have excellent organisation skills.
• Work in close partnership with the Headteacher and Governing Body
• Be committed to the whole life of the school.
• Manage a range of day to day duties with initiative, accuracy, flexibility and adaptability

Essential Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or relevant equivalent qualification such as CSBM.
Use of Word Processing, and other Office Programmes
Knowledge of school information management systems desirable.
