The Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) is a statutory body for Tees Valley. The five local authorities, Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton unite under the Combined Authority to make decisions on key strategies relating to economic development, transport, infrastructure and skills. It creates a single voice for the area on these key matters, providing greater power and resources for the Tees Valley area.

TVCA has an exciting opportunity for an Apprenticeship working in the Strategic Investment Planning team to deliver a range of funding to businesses within the Tees Valley and surrounding areas.

TVCA is looking to recruit an Apprentice Enterprise Assistant to assist in the provision of general administration and project support to the Strategic Investment Planning Team.

Working within a busy office environment, duties include standard office tasks such as filing; photocopying. word processing and answering telephone enquiries. Other duties include collating and analysing business data for the project, supporting financial processes, and developing project documents.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player. The successful candidate will be committed to providing an excellent service, be willing to learn and develop their skills and knowledge in a public sector environment.

In return you will gain valuable work experience whilst working towards a Level 2 Business Administration qualification in the year one with potential progression to Level 3 in year two subject to satisfactory completion of the level 2 qualification. You will have a mentor who will support you in developing your career. Your mentor will work with you to produce a training and development plan to help you develop your personal skills and achieve your qualification.

As part of your training programme you will be expected to develop your knowledge, experience and your ability to work as part of a large and diverse team. You will also be required to further develop your organisational, communication and information technology skills including the use of Microsoft Office and other in-house computer packages.

Apprenticeship opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 16 years with no upper age limit. Please note however, that individuals who already have a Level 4 qualification are not eligible for funding for an Apprenticeship at level 4 or below and therefore cannot be considered for this vacancy.
