About the role

The Apprenticeship Directorate is expanding and building on our success of engaging with local employers, we are looking for a qualified and experienced assessor in Construction. Predominately working with Carpentry and Joinery apprentices, this exciting role will also work as part of the wider team to support other Construction standards.

This role is a new post and will work alongside curriculum staff teaching the day release element by engaging with employers and apprentices in their workplace, ensuring a high quality and relevant apprenticeship. Assessors play an integral part in ensuring apprentices make good progress by undertaking work based reviews and supporting their development. The role will be responsible for supporting apprentices working towards their End Point Assessment and will have a prominent role in managing the EPA process.


About the Candidate

We would welcome applications from occupationally competent staff that have a proven record and experience of the construction environment, with Carpentry and Joinery at level 2 and 3 the core requirement. The ability to support with the assessment of level 3 Occupational Supervisor and level 4 Construction Site Supervisor would be advantageous. The successful applicant will possess relevant vocational experience and an assessing qualification. However, we are willing to support the successful applicant with training and qualifications.

Applicants for this post should have drive and enthusiasm, possess good interpersonal and organisational skills, and be committed to delivering and contributing towards high quality apprenticeship provision. You should have experience of working in a team, as a commitment to teamwork is vital. Applicants must be mobile throughout the northeast region as this role involves travelling to employer premises and working across college sites.
