Assistant Headteacher – Head of School, Key Stage KS4

Salary £48-50k
Permanent -Full Time
Required for September 2018

Academy 360 is an All through Academy for pupils aged 4 – 16. It also hosts a 30 place Specialist Planned Place Provision for children in Sunderland who have MLD/SLD. It is unique in the region, providing pupils and staff many benefits through learning and teaching in an All through school.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced teacher and leader to join the academy’s All through Senior Leadership Team to lead the development of one of the secondary key stages. The successful candidate will lead and manage the academic, welfare and pastoral standards and delivery for around 300 pupils.

The Academy’s Senior Leadership Team includes experts in Primary, Secondary and Special Education. Together they lead, manage and monitor the education experience for children from age 4 to age 16, to ensure cohesion and progression through all stages and phases.

Trustees are looking to appoint a highly skilled teacher and leader with either middle or senior leadership experience who will drive a strategy that ensures all pupils in a secondary key stage achieve their academic and personal potential. The academic subject specialism of the successful candidate is not relevant as trustees are primarily looking for a successful and experienced leader with the ability to raise standards across all subjects and deliver high standards across teams.

Academy 360 is a valued member of Laidlaw School Trust (LST), a small Multi Academy Trust (MAT) that serves areas of extreme deprivation in Sunderland and Newcastle. Staff and pupils benefit from the support of the LST Central Team and also from the collaboration that has developed across the leaders and staff in its team of academies. In addition the generous financial support of LST’s sponsor ensures that pupils and staff have experiences and opportunities that other regional schools can’t offer. LST is committed to providing high quality training and development opportunities to all its employees.
