The role involves assisting with the maintenance, repair and technical fault diagnosis of the Nexus Signalling & Point Heating equipment, systems and associated Service Supply Infrastructure.
The role is varied, and you will come across challenges that you will approach with a problem-solving attitude in order to keep our passengers moving. You don’t need previous railway experience to succeed in this role as full training will be given but it is essential that you have experience of fault finding in Electrical and Mechanical systems, and be capable of working alone and as part of a team, using your own initiative when required. Other key transferrable skills include working carefully and accurately whilst being aware of your surroundings. Remaining calm under pressure, you will assess risks and make decisions taking into account all factors.
A Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) is essential, as is a UK driving licence.
Previous knowledge and experience of Railway Signalling is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
