Following a huge investment in resources an opportunity has arisen for a new Assistant Team Manager position within the Children's Safeguarding Service.
 
The assistant team manager post has arisen within the children's Looked After/Care Proceedings social work team in Middlesbrough.

The assistant team manager will have responsibility for supporting the team manager in supervising and guiding social workers and family support workers when working with children and their families, they will be expected to deputise in the team manager's absence and support the team manager in attending and chairing meetings, supporting social workers with care proceedings work including attending court hearings, permanency planning and working with Looked After children to ensure stability within their placements. The assistant team manager will also hold a reduced complex case load.
 
If you have excellent organisational, communication and management / supervisory skills, you may be the person that we are looking for.
 
You must have experience of working with young people, working within a team and have excellent motivational and negotiation skills.
 
The successful candidate should hold a BA in SW / DipSW or equivalent with relevant complex social work experience and be completing or have completed post qualification qualifications. Management / supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
