Why North of Tyne Combined Authority?

Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland local authorities have secured a devolution deal that focuses on bringing investment, employment opportunities and brighter prospects to the whole North of Tyne area.

Devolution means £20m investment a year for the next 30 years which will provide an extra £600m over this time. It also means new powers to shape our own future and meet the needs of local people and business.

Key decisions about investment, housing, education and skills development will be made locally to benefit our local economy and the people who live, work, study and visit here.

Led by an elected mayor, the new North of Tyne Combined Authority will manage a range of powers on housing, transport, infrastructure, skills and employment.

Over the 30-year-period, this could create up to 10,000 new and better and jobs, generate £1.1bn for our local economy and pull in a further £2.1bn in private sector investment.

This is an exciting time for the North of Tyne area and we are looking for exceptional people to join us on this momentous journey, to deliver our vision and help us put the North of Tyne on a national and international stage.

The role
The role of Business Support Manager will be to collaborate with services across the Combined Authority to enable the effective management of services in line with the key priorities and strategies.

As well as day to day information management the you will work with the Senior Management Team, Elected Mayor and Cabinet to identify opportunities for service development, income generation and partnerships.

The ability to be flexible in responding to changing priorities, methodical, to use own initiative and to be able to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders is essential.

If you have experience of in working collaboratively in a complex or politically sensitive organisation we would like to hear from you.
