Lumley Infant and Nursery School's Governing Body is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, caring and enthusiastic Caretaker.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

- To carry out the general functions as specified in the full job description.
- To work alongside the cleaning staff and ensure that the school premises are cleaned in accordance with the cleaning specification.
- To monitor any need for repairs and maintenance to the premises and furnishings to ensure safe conditions at all times.
- To ensure the outdoor play areas are well maintained and free from hazards.
- To ensure the general security and safety of the school's premises and
grounds.
- To undertake general porterage duties.
- To carry out first line repairs and maintenance indoors and outdoors.

Hours of work: 7.00 -11.00am (split shift) 2.30 - 6.00pm (5.30pm Friday)

The successful applicant will be joining a team of teachers and support staff whose principle aim is to provide a safe and happy environment in which the children can learn and play together.

This position is paid whole time i.e.- employees who must work all year around (52 weeks per year), including during school closure periods. These employees will have a leave entitlement of 26 or 31 days (pro rata for part time) which must be taken when the schools are closed. The holiday entitlement runs from April to March, under Green Book terms i.e. not academic year).

The applicant should follow the school's policies, including those on behaviour management.

The post is permanent but subject to a successful six month probationary period.
