We are looking to recruit Casual / Relief Cover Drivers within our Integrated Transport Unit conveying vulnerable adult and child passengers to and from care facilities, schools, academies and other education sites. 

Our Drivers work in partnership with Passenger Assistants providing a specialist transport service and are the link between parents/carers and service provider staff.  We are seeking applicants that will embed the values of Middlesbrough Council and will be passionate about our service to those whom our service supports.

Our Drivers must ensure that passenger safety and wellbeing is their priority and that transport is a comfortable and happy environment. Many of our passengers have special needs, disabilities or other medical needs.


This post may include the support and assistance to a child and or adult who has SEND and or medical needs. 

Mandatory training is given to all Drivers such as customer excellence, wheel chair security, first aid etc.  Specific training is available to Drivers dependent upon the needs of the individuals they are responsible for.

Other Requirements:

Valid PCV licence category D or D1

CPC holder or willing to work towards achieving qualification by August 2019

Previous experience in PSV bus or coach driving of at least2 years

Good customer service skills

'Can Do', Polite and Friendly attitude
