The Gateshead School Sport Partnership co-ordinate activities and facilitate collaboration amongst schools, their clusters and key partners.

Our vision is for all school age (4-19) children and young people in Gateshead to experience and enjoy high quality Physical Education, Physical Activity and School Sport, building the foundations for a lifelong active and healthy lifestyle.

We are seeking highly skilled enthusiastic, personable and motivated individuals to join our School Sport Coaching Team. The main duties & responsibilities will be to undertake curricular and extra-curricular sports coaching in a variety of school settings, to plan and deliver a varied programme of school sport coaching based on individual school requests, to ensure that coaching sessions are suitably developed and appropriately inclusive, to ensure the required Health & Safety policies (including child protection) are adhered to within all sessions, to carry out appropriate checks on equipment, venues and facilities, to ensure high standards of customer care and a quality service at all times, to carry out and submit the required monitoring/evaluation procedures (including timesheet submission), to undertake required training as/when appropriate and any other duties identified within the purview of the grade.

You will have at least 1 x UKCC Level 2 National Governing Body Coaching Qualification (or equivalent), a range of additional coaching qualifications and have a current driving licence and access to a car of means to mobility support.

You must have experience of working within a school environment and be confident working with all ages, have knowledge of suitably developmental session planning and also Health & Safety practices. You must have excellent communication, organisational, planning and evaluative skills.

Although all applicants will be considered, please be aware that our current focus sports are as follows: Hockey, Netball, Fencing and Gymnastics. Therefore qualifications and experience in these activities would be advantageous.
