About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Child & Family Worker to support the delivery of family time across Together For Children.  The Family Time Service aim’s to facilitate safe, positive and purposeful family time between cared for children, their parents & family and to ensure that the child or young person is safeguarded during supervised family time sessions.

You will work closely with social workers, foster carers, family members and schools to ensure cared for children have safe, meaningful and quality time with parents and family.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. We will also carry out an online internet search for information that is publicly available online that might suggest that you are not fit to work with children or young people


Due to recent changes in UKVI rules, this role does not meet the criteria for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under the updated eligibility requirements effective 22 July 2025.

We want you to apply if you:
  • Have a relevant Level 3 qualification, NVQ3 or above in Childcare, Social care or equivalent
  • Have a current driving license with access to and use of a motor vehicle
  • Have knowledge and understanding of Children’s Social Care procedures, safeguarding procedures,
  • Have knowledge of social, emotional and developmental needs of young people
  • Have a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children & their parents and their families.
  • Have experience of working with children in need and their families,
  • Have experience working in a team,
  • Have good communication skills and customer service. 
  • Are able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, report writing and recording skills.
  • Are comfortable working at pace within a busy team environment, manage work demands, be self-motivated and committed to excellent work practice. 
  • Experience of working previously in a Social Care environment would be an advantage.
