Further Information
Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM) is seeking to appoint a Communications Officer to join the team at Culture Bridge North East (CBNE) until the end of March 2023. The post holder will help CBNE engage directly with its key stakeholders (cultural organisations and schools) as well as the wider North East community. This is an exciting time to join the team, as we work on our No Filter youth voice campaign, and participate in national campaigns to raise the profile of Artsmark and Arts Award.
CBNE is a strategic capacity development programme, funded by Arts Council England (ACE) to act as a ‘Bridge’ between the education and cultural sectors, working to ensure that every child in our region has access to excellent arts and culture. The Communications Officer will take forward the communications strategy for CBNE across all media, and contribute to its development. The role will have a predominantly tactical focus, with some opportunities to contribute to the strategic development of communications as a member of the team.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing briefs and content of high quality advocacy and publicity materials, including print and download resources.
• Maximising relevant press and publicity opportunities, including drafting press releases and media liaison.
• Working with the whole team, and CBNE core partners, to effectively disseminate information drawn from intelligence gathering, programmes and initiatives to inform development of our offer.
• Coordinating content to support online media activity, to communicate meaningfully with our partners and stakeholders.
• Managing the day-to-day applications of the CBNE and TWAM brands.
• Working with ACE and other agencies on coordinated cross-agency advocacy and communications campaigns.
• Liaising with the project team and partner organisations to ensure the effective communication and celebration of practice coming from the CBNE’s work.
• Ensuring events are well promoted to secure strong attendances, monitoring and reporting as necessary.
• Account for communications budgets as appropriate, liaising with the Programme Manager.

You’ll enjoy working in a busy small team and be committed to helping us toward our vision of a rich cultural childhood for every young person in the North East.
